Under the Stars

Description

An animation of Tanabi (Simba's nonexistant son) and Vitani sharing a peaceful night under the stars.

Despite what the title might lead you to believe, the music used in this piece is actually an excerpt from "This Land", from the TLK soundtrack. Tanabi's voice is provided by William Hall (who played the title role of Roger Wilco in Space Quest 6, his only "major" performance (the voice clip in this animation is actually from the SQ6 demo, not the actual game)).

For those of you who give a hoot, the line used in this piece comes directly after a description the SQ6 narrator gives when Roger looks out the window of a spaceship:

"A peaceful panorama of light, color and limitless black space drifts silently by the window, the infinite flow and ebb of matter and energy dancing around itself in a never-ending lightshow of creation."

..and then Roger says what Tanabi says.

Edit (6-25-05): Wow! Over 30 Favourites? I've got just one thing to say: This is for you, Roger!

7-3-05: Changed text at end to clarify that the line is from the demo version. A lot of Roger’s lines in the demo (including this one) are different in the actual game, sometimes drastically so. For instance, one of his lines in the demo is “nice nacelles”, and he pronounces the second word “nuh-sell-ees”. However, this same line is present in the final game, but this time he pronounces it “nackel-ees”.

Note: If you want to download and play the SQ6 demo, go here - [link] . The game is pretty old, and I haven't played the downloadable version of the demo myself, but it should work all right. Drop me a note if you're having trouble running it.

Edit (11-16-05):Just to dispel any mistaken notions, that loud sound at the end is a record being scratched (hence why the music ends when you hear the sound), not a farting sound (which some people seem to think it is. Kids these days...)
