Anthro Hoatzin by Akril15 Anthro Hoatzin by Akril15
What the title says...these are some amazingly strange birds, as their looks alone might attest.

Its young have claws on their wings that they use to climb through the trees in the first few weeks of their life (I kept the claws on this adult to give him some handlike appendages in this anthro form). Also, though most birds eat at least one kind of animal (fish, insects, invertebrates, smaller birds, mice, etc.), the hoatzin's diet is almost completely vegetarian.

"Yeah, I eat plants. You got a problem with that?"

Why must it be "anthro"? Why can't it just be a cartoon hoatzin wearing pants?

I guess it could be considered that. Most cartoon animals tend to be anthropomorphized to some extent, though.

Wow this picture is absolutely awesome. I love the realism. It looks like a classic childrens book illustration. It's great!

Thanks! For some reason, he seemed like the kind of bird who would look good in overalls...

Which "right" were you referring to? His right or the viewer's right? Hrm...I guess it's the one with the faulty foreshortening, and I think you're right. I have yet to master the subtle art of sketching bird's feet.

:giggle: His overalls are cute.

This is a very good, very detailed work; I like how you incorperate this character's biological identity with his personality. A lot of attention seems to be given to the lighting. The only thing that may be a bit off is this guy's right foot - it seems a bit small. However, that's minor.

Once again, great jorb!
