The Most Troubled of Them All by Akril15 The Most Troubled of Them All by Akril15
Rosella and Cassima argue over whose adventures were the worst and/or the most traumatizing.

Sorry, Rosella fans. Rosella is cool, but Cassima is one seriously tough girl. Scary labyrinth? Explore it and learn how to navigate it. Big monsters in the scary labyrinth? Befriend them and give them cute names. Evil vizier about to kill your boyfriend? Inflict some serious physical pain on that vizier. I guess Allaria and Caliphim didn’t raise their daughter to be a typical damsel in distress.

And speaking of Cassima – when Alexander is brooding over her in the KQ6 intro, doesn’t Valanice’s “After all, you only met her that one time” line seem a bit unusual, when you consider how she and Graham fell in love? I mean, Graham sees Valanice a total of ONE time before deciding that she was his bride-to-be, Valanice falls for him as well in the ten minutes they’re together, and she is now essentially telling her son NOT to think about the girl that he met in essentially the same manner? Did Valanice get a visit from the Harsh Reality Fairy the previous night or something?

Eeee...Nov9Nov9Nov9Nov9...my nerves are a mess.

Rosella is tough, but Cassima definitely has bigger balls. (And by TSL-canon, slightly more emotionally mature than Rosella.)

omg Did I miss something earlier? They look so masculine! It's a little scary. Heh.

I'm not sure what you mean by asking if you've missed something, but this drawing is almost two years old, so it definitely has a few more anatomical errors than my recent stuff.

Now , this...this is a conversation I could see happening between characters while remaining completely faithful to the original series. I like Rosella so I'm a little sad that she gave in but it's a little funny too. Even though Rosella cleaned up the dwarves place in IV , I can easily see her being the kind of girl who actually hates cleaning up and getting dirt under her fingernails , so to me it her going "ugh" about that last bit makes sense.

Thanks a lot, but I didn't intend for this to be a scene which could snugly fit within the context of the series it's based on. I meant it to be a humorous, slightly distorted perspective of characters and events from the series. If you want to see a more serious take on the KQ games that attempts to remain faithful to them, check out KQ9:IT^4.

I like their facial expressions, hair and clothes. I like how you design clothes for the royal family of Daventry. I plan on re-writing my Morena's tale, I am going to write a prequel about Graham and Valanice's childhoods. I changed Morena's name to Maureen. I decided there are too many names that end in 'a' in the KQ series. I agree that Cassima has had it the worst, being a slave to an evil wizard and having to clean his filthy castle is pretty bad.

Thank you. Besides Morena's name change, what other major changes do you plan to make to Morena's Tale?

Well, more of Graham and Valanice's childhood are going to be shown, it will be more religious, with a Christian prophecy about Graham's reign as king, a special bloodline that he and Valanice will have, their children and grandchildren will be special and have magical powers, there will be more of a conspiracy going on in the first 2 games, the villains in the games will all be part of the black cloak society.

Okay...that's not the direction I thought you were going to take it, but it is your story.

I'd have to disagree. Cassima was never sent on quests- she knew exactly where she stood most of the time. Sure it wasn't cool, but Rosella had to be brave to stand up to the things she was questing for. She may not have had shocking singular moments, but put yourself in her shoes. In KQ4- her father is dying and only she can save him. To have to go through that AND go on a quest, she is a tough nut. Cassima gave in to getting married- I reckon Rosella would have fought the whole way. it's in her blood to be defiant.

Good points, but I didn't create this drawing to make a serious point. I created it to amuse people.

If I was going to make a serious point, I would have gone over everything that the two have had to go through before coming to any conclusions about who had things the hardest. I don't do that sort of thing very often, though.

Yeah- it was a bit of fun, but I still think that Rosella has had it more difficult than Cassima. It was a matter of opinion.

Hahaha. I love the expressions on their faces.

I don't know... Rosella did the Troll cave in Tamir... that alone warrents a lot of respect.

But Cassima does rock as well!

Yep -- if this were a serious argument, I doubt if I could pin either of them as the one with the most hair-raising adventures. They're both great characters in their own way, and I like them both for different reasons.

I'm the same way... I mean, I obviously love Rosella a lot, but I was Cassima for Halloween once (I'm a brunette so it was a lot easier than being Rosella).

I always loved when Cassima stabbed the vizier- I thought it was the biggest grrrl moment ever!

Oh, Cassima I love to torme-- er... I love you, Cassima. Yeah, that's it. >> <<;

But yeah, I really do respect the wenc-- er, the woman. *laughs* I'm only kidding, she's actually my favorite femme in the KQ series. I simply love it when you meet her in KQV, her music's so beautiful!

Anyway, I'm faving this. Their expressions are priceless~

Worst ending in KQVI: Forgetting to give Cassima the dagger.

Thanks! I'm not sure about this tone that you're talking about Cassima with... :hmm:

But yeah, she's an interesting one. From the first time I saw her in KQ5, I was hooked....or at least intrigued enough by her character to write a 200+ page story about her. I didn't like her all that much in KQ6, though.

Meh, it was late last night and it amused me. I don't really know why I did it either...

But wait, a 200+ page story? O___O You're freakin' amazing!
But I know what you mean about VI, she just wasn't as charming. I mean, I don't think KQV's Cassima would just sit in that tower and woe over her fate. She'd find a way to get OUT of there!

I actually had her attempting to escape the castle a couple of times in that same story, which is called Cassima's Tale - you can read it (and some other older Sierra stories I've written) here - [link]

Thanks so much for the link! I have to be leaving for Nekocon soon, but I've been reading all that I can. Your characterizations hit the spot and I LOVE the comparison of Cassima to S... S... ... whatsherface.

I've gotta say that you especially wrote a splendid Mordack. I really feel bad for Cassima, but I can't wait to see how she'll pull through.

Now I'm even more excited for your KQ project, with writing like this I know it'll be a blast!

You're welcome! Unfortunately, that story is chock full of errors, I'll wager. That's why I've gotten some betas for this new project, which I hope is received well.
