It's been a while now since my very first Flash game, Area 50.5, was uploaded. I'm happy with the reception it has received, though there was one thing about many people's comments that I found a little depressing.
Hardly anyone seemed to get the significance of that thing that falls in front of Una at the end of the game. I thought that a game that was the best-selling PC title of all time (until 2002, when The Sims topped it) would be a bit more widely recognized, but apparently it's not.
Anyway, I've never really been part of the Myst community (I played the original when I was young and none of the sequels I've played have really captured that first experience), so I've never really had my own "Stranger" (that is, a face for the otherwise invisible protagonist). Then I remembered how I'd slipped that little in-joke at the end of Area 50.5 and started thinking of an alternate ending when Una didn't ignore that book, and...well, the picture should speak for itself.
i love your flash game but im not great at some things so whats the picture basically portraying?

from Scourge no not the warriors one my one a GIRL with 4 white paws and a spiked and checkered bracelets so im not copyrighting! its my fursona i don't tell you what yours has to look like! also she has 1 fang and a forked tongue so ha in ur face!
If I remember correctly, I figured the book randomly falling out of the sky was a reference to Myst, even though I've never played the game. (I've watched two other people play it though.)
Yup. Thanks again for helping with the bg art for the rose garden and cenotaph scenes. I'd love to hear what you think, though it may not be as good as one of your games.
I finally got a chance to sit down and play your game yesterday, and I was very, very impressed with it. It was fun exploring the various rooms, and the little mini-games scattered throughout the house were a nice touch. I love the general layout of the house, and the characters' designs are cute as well (I also thought it was hilarious that Lost didn't see what was so strange about having a lucky rabbit's foot).
Unfortunately, I don't think I was able to get very far. I got inside the cenotaph, but that's as far as I got, and I was a little disappointed that I couldn't go back into the house to look for more clues. I think I've found a lot of them, but I haven't been able to put them together into anything that makes sense yet.
Still, it's a very well put-together game. I can tell that a lot of work went into it, and you should be proud to have been able to keep such a large team together long enough to complete it.
Thank you! That means a lot coming from someone who actually knows what it takes to make these games.
I made the riddle itself hard on purpose. Still, some people get it quickly without any help while others take a while and ask for hints before they even figure out what the question is. The ending is worth it though.

Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
