2009 Sketches

A small collection of sketches done on the back of filled-out blood sugar charts, all from this year. It's mostly my characters with a bit of fan art.

I. A lineup of various species of Galapagos finches, inspired by The Darwin Finches on YouTube (who, to be frank, look hardly anything like real Galapagos finches). Left to right, large ground finch, medium ground finch, small ground finch, woodpecker finch, cactus ground finch, vegetarian finch, sharp-beaked ground finch (a.k.a. vampire finch), warbler finch, mangrove finch.

II. Sarala and Rinden lying on their backs in the grass.

III. Two unnamed cheetahs.

IV. As much as I like the original Myst, I never really came up with an "avatar" I saws myself as in the context of the games. However, I do have Una, who, given a change of events at the end of her game (Area 50.5) might have found herself in the Myst universe, doing mostly this: reading journals.

V. Nimesha and Yamin sleeping together.

VI. An unfinished piece of King's Quest fanart, with the vaguely explanitory name below it: basically, after the events of KQ7, Edgar, King Otar and Mathilde attempt to come to an understanding and get a few questions answered (such as, how exactly did Edgar do that thing with the mirror?).

VII. Thalia James (the protagonist of Adventure: The Inside Job) as a young child, plus some concept sketches of a character from the sequel (yes, it is technically in progress, no, I have no idea when it will be finished).

VIII. Some sketches of Alexander from the King's Quest series. An experiment to see if I could draw him with a completely different hairstyle than his slicked-back look in KQ6 (top-center), yet have him still look like himself.

IX. Non-anthro Xandra as an adult. I usually draw her as an adolescent, but since I have an adult version of her on Impressive Title, I thought it would be interesting to draw her as one, since I haven't done so in a while.

X. Yamin and Nimesha running, Vidole and Kigeni engaging in a loving headbutt (from two different perspectives), and Khan and Surina standing in shallow water, watching (what I planned to be) a sunset.
